Generating Revenue with Admob

Things have been crazy over the past few weeks, so I didn’t have a chance to put together the application teardown that I wanted to have for all the #idevblogaday readers. Instead, I’m giving you the slides to the presentation I did at the Orlando iOS meetup group last week.

The slides go over a few of our numbers and help show how to get started with AdMob in your applications. I plan on recording myself giving the presentation to these slides, but for now, enjoy what I have up.

Let me know what you think or if there’s anything that needs clarification!

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for sharing this information with us. Its pretty hard to find valid information about monetization through ads.

I’m wondering, how many downloads does your apps have? Its possible make any kind of relationship of $$ per downloads, or $$ per installations?

Did you implement any feature to find how much time a user spend on your app, how much time a user last to remove an app?

    Regards,
    Dilson

      Dilson,

No problem! I only regret that I don’t have the audio for these slides yet. I’ll be sure to update them once I do.

Our apps have between 100K and 200K downloads. When looking at ad revenue though you want to be more focused on impressions than downloads, since users may re-use your application and view your ads more than once. We get between 10K-15K impressions a day, so you can probably extrapolate from there. I’m not quite sure what I can share without getting in trouble with AdMob, so I’m careful about not revealing CTR or our eCPM.

I don’t have anything set up right now to figure out how long people spend in our apps. I spoke to Pat Flynn over twitter a few months ago and he recommended AppFlurry if you’re looking to do something like that. I haven’t used the product myself yet, but it looks promising.
